OVERVIEW
This post-graduate course is designed for thoracic
endoscopists and will cover indications, contra-
indications, and clinical applications of both
conventional and EBUS guided TBNA in diagnosing
mediastinal pathology and staging lung cancer.
This course will provide a review of mediastinal
lymph node anatomy. The program will also review
stepwise technique and preprocedural planning for
EBUS TBNA. The latest evidence-based review of
EBUS application will be reviewed. The role of
rapid onsite evaluation of TBNA samples and tumor
markers will also be reviewed. This course will
provide instructive technique on thoracic ultrasound
and clinical management of the malignant pleural
effusion. Additionally the lab workshop will include
basic technique for critical care cardiac ultrasound.
The goal of the course is to acquaint the participant
with the above procedures and the equipment
required to perform the procedures.
