This course will focus on practical pediatric dermatology for the primary care provider, with emphasis on correct diagnosis, therapeutic options and clinical pearls.The target audience is pediatricians, family
practitioners, dermatologists, nurses/nurse practitioners and residents in these programs.
Lectures this year will cover the recognition, diagnosis and treatment of atopic dermatitis, bacterial skin infections, warts, molluscum, herpes simplex infections, acne vulgaris, periorificial dermatitis, viral
exanthems, dermatophyte and candida infections, neonatal skin emergencies, “lumps and bumps,â€arthropod bite reactions, pediculosis, scabies and “hot topics†in pediatric dermatology.There will be two “Guess the Diagnosis!†lectures, with pediatric dermatology textbooks awarded at the end of the day for the top attendee scorers.The day will conclude with an open “Ask the pediatric Dermatologist†panel session.
