Oregon Society of Medical Oncology (OSMO) Spring 2013 Oncology Conference

Oregon’s Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs) seek to provide higher-quality care that leads to better outcomes, at a lower cost. Dr. Archie Bleyer will discuss CCOs and the need to address the Triple O’s: Overdiagnoses, Overtreatment and Overutilization. This will naturally lead into our panel discussion on Oregon’s policy on costly treatments at the end of life care this panel will include Ariel K. Smits, MD MPH Medical Director, Health Evidence Review Commission. ASCO’s President Dr. Sandra Swain will provide a legislative update. Drs. Jim Gajeweski and David Regan will address 2013 coding changes. Caremark will also discuss specialty pharmacy – effectively managing oral oncolytics and securing patient assistance for these agents.
