This Course has been approved for a maximum of 4 CEUs. Course Overview: This course is specifically designed to highlight the importance of soft tissue management for the dental implant patient. A periodontal perspective is used to discuss consequences of tooth loss, gingival tissue assessment, mucogingival problems and treatment solutions to correct gingival recession and alvealar ridge deficiencies. Gingival and connective tissue grafting techniques are presented using clinical case scenarios combined with surgical videos to explain grafting principles to establish a healthy foundation for proper dental implant placement. The combination of lectures and surgical videos will benefit the clinician in evidence-based decision making for successful treatment outcomes. Course Objectives: At the conclusion of this course participants will be able to: • Understand consequences of tooth loss and rationale for socket/ridge preservation • Recognize application for both hard and soft tissue grafting • Understand types of ridge deficiencies • Learn different applications of surgical techniques to augment horizontal, vertical and combination ridge defects • Be familiar with principles for gingival and connective tissue grafts • Avoid complications and learn how to manage them when present Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
