Dr. Zulfa Omer is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.
Dr. Omer received her medical degree (MBBS) from the University of Khartoum, Sudan. She completed her postgraduate training in Internal Medicine, followed by fellowship training in Hematology and Medical Oncology in the United States. Her clinical practice focuses on the care of patients with hematologic malignancies, with particular expertise in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), and other bone marrow–derived cancers.
Dr. Omer is actively involved in clinical and translational research and serves as a principal investigator for multiple early-phase and phase II clinical trials. Her research interests include the development of novel targeted therapies, including BTK degraders, MALT1 inhibitors, bispecific antibodies, and combination regimens for relapsed and refractory B-cell malignancies. She has led and participated in several industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies aimed at improving outcomes for patients with leukemia and lymphoma.
