Dr. Zhang is the director of biostatistics at the Value Institute and affiliated professor in the Program of Medical Engineering in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Delaware. He obtained his PhD in biostatistics from the University of Iowa and Masters in statistics from Arizona State University. He has a broad background in health outcomes research, health economics, public health, epidemiology, and biostatistics, with specific training and expertise in key research areas for this application. As the director of biostatistics at the Christiana Care Health System, he carries out study design, methodological research, data analysis, propose research grants, writing drafts as the lead author for peer reviewed research papers, and teaching medicine fellows courses in biostatistics and research method. His current research focuses on statistical methods for survival analysis, predictive modeling, health economics, modelling risk scores and applications in medicine generally.
