Zhiyong Yang, Ph.D. is an Associate Research Fellow and a Research Project Leader (RPL) within the Inflammation and Immunology Research Unit at Pfizer. Since joining the pharmaceutical industry (Pharmacia, Wyeth and Pfizer) in 2000 after his postdoctoral training at Harvard, he has been deeply involved in drug discovery research in various disease areas such as, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), chronic kidney diseases (diabetic nephropathy), respiratory diseases (pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis, COPD), rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and other inflammation and autoimmune diseases.
In the past 17 years, he has led multiple cross-functional project teams for the discovery and development of novel small or large molecule therapeutics. He has co-authored more than 20 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
