Zhenyu Yue PhD

Zhenyu Yue, PhD, is the Aidekman Research Professor and Director of Basic and Translational Research of Movement Disorders at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, and an Investigator of Morris K. Udall Center of Excellence for Parkinson's Disease. Dr. Yue's laboratory investigates cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration and develops therapeutic strategies for Parkinson's, Huntington's and Alzheimer's diseases. Professionally, Dr. Yue is interested in cellular mechanisms that control the exchange of proteins between the cell and its environment and malfunction of these mechanisms that occurs in neurological disorders.

Dr. Yue has authored more than 100 publications and serves as an associate editor for several scientific journals. On multiple occasions, he shared his expertise as an invited speaker at international research conferences including Gordon Research Conferences, Keystone Research Conference, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories programs and Society for Neuroscience conferences. Dr. Yue's research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and the Parkinson's Foundation.
