Zheng Fei Ma is a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer at the University of the West of England. Dr Ma conducts research on life cycle nutrition (including special nutritional needs, physiology, and health concerns of pregnant and lactating women, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults), with a focus on understanding population and individual health, relevant for developed and developing countries. In addition, his varied background with experience in public health and medical science allows him to tackle research problems with a multi-disciplined approach.

Dr. Ma has a BSc in Food Science and nutrition (with honors) from the Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Malaysia, an MSc (MedSci) in Human Nutrition with Public Health Nutrition specialization from the University of Glasgow in Scotland, UK, and a PhD in Human Nutrition from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He is a public health nutritionist and has completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He has been involved in many funded projects, of which 1 as a Principal Investigator (PI). His research output summarises in over 20 peer-reviewed publications in international high-profile journals (some with impact factor as high as 7.6), numerous conference contributions, and 1 book chapter.
