Dr. Zhang Qiang, popularly known as Dr. Smile, received his medical degree from the Department of Clinical Medicine at Zhejiang Medical University, later receiving his Master’s degree in Vascular Surgery from Shanghai Second Medical University. From 1997 to 1998, Dr. Zhang trained in the United States at the Loma Linda Medical Center Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program. Throughout his career, he has continuously engaged in technical exchanges around the world, including programs in the United States, Japan, Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia.

Dr. Zhang is a renowned Vascular Surgeon, and has helped tens of thousands of patients treat vascular disease. He started his surgical career in the General Surgery Department of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital at Zhejiang University. In 1995, he helped to establish Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, and was responsible for the formation of the Vascular Surgery Department. In 2002, he helped found Zhejiang University’s Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Vascular Surgery, as Director of the university’s Third Affiliated Hospital.
