Zeshaun Khawaja MD, MBA

Dr. Zeshaun Khawaja, MD, MBA, is a board-certified vascular neurologist and healthcare executive at Cleveland Clinic, specializing in stroke care, cerebrovascular disease, and healthcare innovation. He serves as a Medical Director and physician leader within Cleveland Clinic’s Cerebrovascular Center, where he is dedicated to advancing the quality, accessibility, and delivery of stroke care across the health system and beyond. His work focuses on improving outcomes through clinical excellence, operational innovation, and value-based healthcare initiatives.

Dr. Khawaja earned his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University before completing his medical education at Saba University School of Medicine in 2008. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital, followed by a Neurology residency at the University of Florida’s Shands Medical Center. He then pursued fellowship training in Vascular Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic and later earned a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, further strengthening his expertise in healthcare leadership and systems improvement.

Board-certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Khawaja's clinical interests include stroke prevention, acute ischemic stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), cerebrovascular disease, and brain hemorrhage. He is particularly passionate about developing innovative care models, optimizing transitions of care, and leveraging technology to improve patient outcomes on a global scale.
