Zandrea is a qualified social worker in 1998, choosing to specialise in mental health and brain injury. Zandrea has been committed to raising the awareness of autism through her work for over 25 years. During which time, she has worked across both health and social care delivering, managing and commissioning multi-agency and integrated mental health, learning disability and autism services.

Zandrea worked with people with autism and their families, autistic individuals as an project worker before qualifying as a social worker. In the early 2000’s whilst managing integrated community mental health and forensic services, Zandrea worked with her colleague Professor Terry Brugha in Leicestershire and went on to develop one of the first integrated diagnostic pathways and Autism Boards in the country that was inclusive of families and people with autism.
