Zaid Zoumot, MBBS, MSc, Ph.D., FRCP, is Section Head of Pulmonology within the Respiratory Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He is also a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM) of Case Western Reserve University, in the US.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Zoumot worked as a Respiratory Physician at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK. He was one of the inaugural physicians who joined the Cleveland Clinic in 2014. His sub-specialist fields of interest are Interventional Pulmonology, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Asthma, and Lung Cancer. He is also very experienced in managing Sleep Disordered Breathing, Lung Failure, and Bronchiectasis.
Dr. Zoumot received his medical degree from the King's College London School of Medicine in London, UK. He completed his residency in General Internal Medicine at the London Deanery and then completed his fellowships in Respiratory Medicine and General Internal Medicine and later subspecialized in Interventional Pulmonology at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Respiratory Medicine by Imperial College, London, UK for his thesis examining lung volume reduction for the treatment of severe emphysema in 2011.
Dr. Zoumot is extensively published with numerous original research studies as well as reviews and editorials in peer-reviewed medical journals to his name, and he is currently an associate editor of the European Respiratory Journal Open Research. He remains active in the field of research and is the primary investigator of several research studies at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He is a regular speaker, moderator, and organizing committee member at regional and international scientific meetings and conferences.
