Zaher Koutoubi MD

Zaher Koutoubi, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Digestive Disease Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Koutoubi worked as Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain for nine years, between 2005 and 2014. He also served as the Chairman of the Clinical Peer Review Committee between 2008 and 2014.

Prior to joining Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, Dr. Koutoubi also served as Chief of Gastroenterology & Hepatology Division, Director of Outpatient Department and Chairman of Patients Relation Committee at Kingdom Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between 2001 and 2005.

Dr. Koutoubi earned his medical degree at Cluj-Napoca University School of Medicine in Romania. He undertook his Internal Medicine Residency training at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, US, and is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He carried out his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri, where he also served as Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Koutoubi has been American Board Certified in Gastroenterology since 2000, and was re-certified in 2010.
