Yvonne Ou BA, MD

Yvonne Ou, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in glaucoma, including medical, laser and surgical therapies; cataract evaluation and treatment including combined cataract and glaucoma surgery; glaucoma filtering and implant surgery; and newer procedures in the MIGS category. Her research interests are in the area of glaucoma neurodegeneration, and she has dedicated her efforts towards the goal of developing new diagnostics and therapies. Clinical research interests include the relationship between glaucoma and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Ou received her B.A. in biochemistry magna cum laude from Harvard University, and her M.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Medical School. She completed an ophthalmology residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. Dr. Ou then completed both clinical and research glaucoma fellowships at Duke University. She received the Young Investigator Award from the Alcon Research Institute in 2012 and the Dr. Douglas H. Johnson Award for Glaucoma Research from the BrightFocus Foundation in 2016.
