Yvette has 30 years of professional and volunteer experience supporting underserved populations in a variety of nonprofit settings focused on mental health, family and couple services, pain management, and psychosocial oncology. She has taught, presented, and published extensively on pain management, psychosocial oncology, diversity, LGBT-affirmative practice, and technology-based social work services. She also is a faculty member at Eastern Michigan University School of Social Work where she teaches graduate theory and practice courses.
