Yves-laurent Jackson MD, MPH

Yves Jackson graduated as a medical doctor at the University of Geneva. He specialized as an internist at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) and subsequently trained in tropical diseases and international health (DTMH) at Mahidol University in Bangkok. He is Privat Docent (PD) at the Faculty of medicine (UniGe). He currently works at the Institute of Global Health (ISG) and heads a pluridisciplinary health centre affiliated to HUG that provides access to care to vulnerable groups of population including homeless and undocumented immigrants. This interest in social medicine and public health led him to undergo a formal MPH and MIPH training at the University of New South Wales (Sydney) along with a PhD in medical sciences (University of Antwerp) with a thesis about the emergence of Chagas disease in Europe. His current research and teaching interests at ISG and HUG encompass urban and immigrants health, neglected tropical diseases and proeminantly Chagas disease, and the social determinants of health.
