Dr. Yuksel Peker, MD is a Professor and Doctor at the Koc University Hospital. Dr. Yuksel Peker graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1985 and settled in Sweden in 1987 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Chest Diseases at Skaraborg Training and Research Hospital and Gothenburg University Medical Faculty Sahlgrenska Hospital. She received her Ph.D. and associate professorship from the University of Gothenburg. He returned to Turkey in 2015 and established Sleep Medicine Center as a professor of Chest Diseases at Marmara Medical Faculty.
Dr. Peker has conducted internationally acclaimed studies on the metabolic and cardiovascular effects of sleep apnea and response to treatment with randomized controlled clinical studies in Sweden. Currently, he is a visiting professor at Gothenburg University and Lund University, Sweden, and has ongoing projects as a project manager. He has been a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh since 2017 within the framework of collaborative studies. Dr. Peker, who started working for the establishment of the "Multidisciplinary Sleep Medicine Research Laboratory (MUTAL)" within KUTTAM, has also been the Associate Editor of the Annals of the American Thoracic Society magazine since 2017.
