Dr. Leon Guo is a Professor in Environmental and Occupational Medicine, College of Medicine of the National Taiwan University (NTU) and NTU Hospital. His research interests have been on acute and chronic health effects caused by environmental and occupational agents, such as air pollutants, fungi, and endocrine disrupting chemicals. He has lead several nation-wide studies on environmental factors for asthma and other atopic conditions. Prediction of respiratory health risks by hereditary and environmental factors has become better with data from large epidemiologic studies conducted by his groups. Dose-dependent effects of air pollution can also be documented. His recent efforts have also been on acute effects of heat and cold weather on attacks of respiratory and cardiac diseases. He has co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed research articles
