Dr. Yu Ni is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology in the School of Public Health at San Diego State University (SDSU). She joined the faculty in August 2023. Dr. Ni is an epidemiologist specializing in the impact of environmental exposures on population health, with a particular focus on women and children. Dr. Ni's research focuses on quantifying the effects of air pollution on maternal and child health, investigating the impact of endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and identifying vulnerable subgroups based on individual characteristics and environmental exposures. She holds a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Washington, an MPH in Epidemiology and Global Health from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Clinical Medicine from Sun Yat-Sen University. Before joining SDSU, Dr. Ni was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Washington from October 2020 to August 2023. She also worked as a pediatrician and a Health Administrator.
