Dr. Youngnim Choi, D.D.S., Ph.D. is a Full Professor at the Department of Immunology and Molecular Microbiology, School of Dentistry, Seoul National University. She got her D.D.S. degree at Seoul National University in 1991 and then received a Ph.D. degree in Microbiology/Immunology, at the Division of Roswell Park Cancer Institute, State University of New York at Buffalo, NY, U. S. A. in 1995. After post-doctoral training at the National Human Genome Research Institute/National Institute of Health, Bethesda, MD, U. S. A., she worked at the College of Dentistry, Kangnung National University, Korea as an Assistant and Associate Professor from 1998 to 2003, and then moved to Seoul National University in 2003. Dr. Choi’s current research is focused on innate and adaptive immune responses to oral bacteria in the setting of periodontitis, oral mucosal diseases, and Sjogren syndrome.
