Yoshinori Ohsumi PhD

Yoshinori is an Honorary Professor and Specially Appointed Professor at Cell Biology Center, Institute of Innovative Research. He received his Doctor of Science in Physiology from the Graduate School of Science at the University of Tokyo in 1972. Since the discovery of autophagy in yeast about three decades ago, his primary research objective has been molecular characterization and understanding the autophagy mechanism.
