Dr. Yoav Mazor is an Attending Physician and Gastroenterologist in the Gastroenterology Department at Rambam Health Care Campus. Dr. Mazor received his M.D. degree (with honors) from the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and completed his residency program in Internal Medicine B and Gastroenterology at Rambam. He also completed a two-and-a-half year training in the Neurogastroenterology Unit, Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Mazor is completed a Ph.D. at the University of Sydney, under a full scholarship, cooperating with the Neurophysiology Laboratory, Hebrew University, Jerusalem, under the supervision of the Head of Pain Plasticity Group Dr. Alexander Binshtok. He currently continues his research as a post-doctorate in the lab. Research topics include the pathophysiology of sensor-motoric abnormalities in the gastrointestinal tract.
Dr. Mazor is the author of original papers in the fields of inflammatory and functional bowel disease. He is a member of the Israeli Gastroenterology and Hepatology Society and the Israeli Neurogastroenterology Society. His main fields of interest include heartburn, dysphagia, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, fecal incontinence, pelvic floor dyssynergia, and treatment with biofeedback and neuromodulation. Dr. Mazor is part of a multi-disciplinary team of colorectal surgeons, dieticians, physiotherapists, and medical technicians dedicated to furthering the diagnosis, treatment, and research of these disorders.
