Dr. Yidan Lin obtained a postdoctoral fellowship in thoracic surgery and oncology at Emory University School of Medicine, USA, and now is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Department of Thoracic Surgery, West China Hospital, Sichuan University. Dr. Lin is now a Member of the Youth Council, the Chinese Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and the Member of the Trauma Committee of, the Chinese Medical Association. He is also a Member of the American Association for Cancer Research and the Member of the Sichuan Thoracic and Cardiovascular Committee. Moreover, he serves as an Editorial member of the Chinese Journal of Clinical Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and an Editorial member of the Chinese Journal of Trauma.

Dr. Lin has been engaged in clinical research of thoracic surgery for more than 20 years and has rich experience in minimally invasive lobectomy, segmentectomy for lung cancer treatment, and minimally invasive esophagectomy. He is also an expert in robotic-assisted thoracic surgery for treating lung cancer, esophageal cancer as well as mediastinum tumor. In basic science research, his interests are focused on targeted therapy and mechanisms of drug resistance and metastasis of lung cancer and esophageal cancer. He has won funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As regards scientific activity, he has published more than 30 original articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Cancer Research, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics, Molecular Cancer, Annals of Thoracic Surgery, European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery. He has also carried out several clinical trials and innovative studies in the field of lung cancer and esophageal cancer.
