Dr. Yasser Mandorah studied at King Saud University Abha branch and graduated with a MBBS bachelor degree in medicine and surgery in 1994. Following his studies in the Kingdom Dr. Mandorah went on to study at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where he specialized in Internal & Pulmonary Medicine as well as Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Mandorah's fellowships were carried out at the University of Toronto where he did fellowships in Lung Transplant in 2003 & Lung Transplant, Transplant Intensive Care & Transplant research fellowship in 2004.
Dr. Mandourah holds both American & Canadian board certification in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Mandourah returned to Saudi Arabia and eventually joined Riyadh Military Hospital's Intensive Care Unit as the Director of the ICU. Following his arrival, Dr. Mandourah established the Department of Intensive Care Services from the Intensive Care Unit. This increased in size by 10.. He also established the Center of Intensive Care Science and Research,which includes the Critical Care which is recognized by the Saudi Council of Health Specialties as well as McGill University in Canada where the fellow can do a part of his or her training. This is in addition to the Critical Care Nursing Diploma Program which is the first diploma program in the region. In addition to this, he established the Respiratory Therapy School with graduates receiving the Respiratory Therapy diploma. In addition to the above, the Research Center was also established where multiple basic clinical and epidemiological trials with National and International Collaboration have and continue to take place with multiple conferencing presentations and publications.
