Dr. Yan Kim went to UC Davis for her undergraduate education with a double major in Anthropology and Biochemistry. She then attended medical school at the University of Virginia. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). During her fellowship, she also received a Ph.D. in Health Policy and Management from the UCLA School of Public Health. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine. She joined Kaiser Permanente's Division of Research in 2014 as a Delivery Science Fellow, during which time she conducted research on improving the delivery of patient-centered and family-oriented care. She joined Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center as a critical care physician in 2016.
