Dr. Yael Weiss-Zruya, MA, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist at the University of Washington. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Arts at the University of Haifa. Dr. Yael Weiss-Zruya’s research focuses on brain networks’ development and specialization related to language and literacy skills and development. She has previously worked with Dr. James Booth in the Brain Development Laboratory at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Yael Weiss-Zruya’s research focuses on brain networks’ development and specialization related to language and literacy skills and development. Her research utilizes both behavioral and neuroimaging (functional MRI) measurements in children and adults. At I-LABS, she is currently leading a project that focuses on the brain’s response to reading acquisition in preschool children. This project examines how early literacy training is related to brain structure and function and affects behavioral measures of language and early literacy skills.
