Xize Niu PhD

Xize Niu is an Associate Professor in Electromechanical Engineering, also a member in bioengineering and the Institute For life Sciences, at the University of Southampton.

His current research interests are microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip, especially droplet microfluidics and its applications.

He graduated from Qingdao University with a B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering. He obtained a PhD in Electromechanical Engineering from Tianjin University in 1999, and worked in the same university as a postdoc and then an associate professor till 2002. From 2002 to 2007, he visited the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and City University of Hong Kong. From 2007 to 2011, he was a research fellow at Imperial College London. In September 2011, he joined the Electromechanical Engineering research group at the University of Southampton.
