Xiuming Liang, PhD, is a Research Specialist at Karolinska Institutet in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, where he works within the Division of Biomolecular and Cellular Medicine. He is part of a research group focused on advanced therapies, particularly the development and delivery of RNA-based therapeutics using engineered extracellular vesicles. Liang’s research centers on biomolecular medicine, with a strong emphasis on extracellular vesicle engineering for gene editing, protein delivery, and precision medicine applications. His work contributes to improving targeted delivery systems for next-generation therapeutics, including CRISPR-based technologies and cancer treatments.
He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals such as Nature Communications, Advanced Science, and Journal of Controlled Release, reflecting a significant impact in the fields of drug delivery and molecular medicine. Liang earned his PhD and Master’s degree in Medicine from Shandong University. He completed postdoctoral training at Karolinska Institutet before advancing to his current role as Research Specialist, continuing to drive innovation in biomaterials and therapeutic delivery systems.
