Dr. Xiaoyang Su is the Co-Director of the Metabolomics Shared Resource of the Rutgers Cancer Institute. His research focus is to use mass spectrometry to study metabolism in a quantitative manner. His lab has strong expertise in the design, data acquisition, result interpretation, and data visualization of LC-MS metabolomics experiments, especially in stable-isotope labeling studies. He is also interested in studying the biochemical function of orphan solute carrier (SLC) transporters and the metabolic fates of microbial metabolites in humans.

Dr. Su has strong expertise in the design, data acquisition, result interpretation, and data visualization of LC-MS metabolomics experiments, especially in stable-isotope labeling studies. Su Lab is applying its expertise in LC-MS metabolomics to study the biochemical function of orphan solute carrier (SLC) transporters. Su Lab developed a metabolomic-transcriptomic association analysis workflow, which revealed the biochemical function of uncharacterized SLC transporters. Using the stable isotope tracing strategy, Su Lab is studying the cellular metabolite direct uptake and de novo synthesis quantitatively.
