A/Prof Wong graduated from NUS in 1987 and completed Orthopaedic residency training in 1997. He subsequently worked as a post-doctoral fellow in Joint Reconstructive and Trauma Surgery at the Sunnybrook Health Science Centre in University of Toronto from 1996 to 1997. He has been practicing at the Singapore General Hospital since 1997 and made the Director of Orthopaedic Trauma since 2005. He is appointed as Clinical Lecturer by NUS. He is also appointed as a Journal Reviewer by Annals of Academy of Medicine.
His special interests in Orthopaedic Surgery are Trauma Reconstruction, Joint Replacement and Reconstruction and minimally invasive computer guided surgery. He introduced the first computer guided Orthopaedic Surgery in South Asia using a Ministry of Health Grant in 2001.
