Dr. Winston Woon is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. His interest is in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Since completing his general surgery training, he has spent two further years sub-specialize in hepaticpancreaticobiliay (HPB) and upper gastrointestinal surgery. He completed his medical school in Australia, University of New South Wales in 1998. He has worked and trained in Australia and returned to Singapore in 2010 as a specialist surgeon.
From 2010 to 2018, he was the head of the HPB surgical unit in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. During that time, he helped develop minimally invasive surgical skills in the general surgery department and the HPB surgical unit. He was also an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the National University of Singapore, School of Medicine. He initially started his private practice in Gleneagles Hospital at the end of 2018. Currently, he also has clinics in Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre and Parkway East Hospital. Dr. Woon is the elected president of the Hepatopancreaticobiliary Association (Singapore). He is also an executive board member of the Asia Pacific Hepatopancreaticobiliary Association.
