William Smart

Dr. Will Smart is Chief Information Officer at the Royal Free London NHS Foundations Trust,one of the largest NHS Trusts in England. Formed in July 2014 following the acquisition of Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals, the Trust operates from three large sites in North London, employs 10,000 staff and delivers care to over 1.6 million patients a year.

Informatics underpins the work of the Trust. During a time of significant organisational change, Will has led an IT programme that has focussed on the integration of information systems and services across the enlarged organisation as well as the delivery of new applications to support the delivery of innovative services. Will is also the Executive lead for the Trust’s modernisation of its non-clinical support services.
