Dr. William Whittier began practicing Nephrology in 2003. He went to Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine for a combined BS/MD program and graduated in 1998, when he moved on to do a Residency and Nephrology Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He is a Professor of Medicine at the Rush Medical College. His main research area involves the adequacy and safety of renal biopsy, where he has performed several studies and published articles and editorials. Other research interests and publications are in the realm of lupus nephritis, glomerulonephritis, and diabetic nephropathy. He has also published in the realm of acid-base as well as electrolyte abnormalities such as hyponatremia.
