William G. Flick is a clinical professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the UIC College of Dentistry. Dr. Flick currently is director of the Pre-Doctoral Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic, and he has taught in both the pre-doctoral DMD Curriculum and the post-graduate Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency. He is director for the UIC continuing education courses in dental sedation, local anesthesia for the dental hygienist, and the anesthesia assistant monitoring course, and he also serves as a content expert for courses in pharmacology, local anesthesia, and advanced pain control.

Dr. Flick maintained a private practice in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the Chicago suburbs for more than 30 years, in addition to his teaching activities, including appointments at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, Cook County Hospital, Loyola University Chicago, the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, and UIC. Dr. Flick has been very active in organized dentistry, having served the profession as past-president of both the Illinois Society of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Illinois Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He served on the Illinois State Board of Dentistry from 2011-18. He is a regular speaker at professional meetings, and he has authored numerous contributions to scientific literature with articles in the area of dental anesthesia/sedation and the public health implications on the removal of impacted third molars.
