At CEE EP, Bill has been involved in the investments in Budapest Metropolitan University, Walltopia and Javna Razsvetljava; he is a member of the Supervisory Board of all three. Prior to joining CEE EP, he worked in Poland for almost 20 years as a Director in Poland Corporate Finance and earlier in Copernicus Finance Polska and Armada Corporate Finance, advising on and executing transactions in the CEE region. Bill first came to Poland in the early 1990’s to work on a private equity project with the UK Know How Fund. He subsequently led various privatisation initiatives in public transport, water and energy.

Among Bill’s many projects was FON – a Polish manufacturer of heavy axles – where he worked closely with the management to deliver operational improvements and later secured an industry buyer for the company. Bill was also involved in the acquisition of Mostostal Warszawa by the Spanish construction giant Acciona and went on to lead the strategic review for Mostostal’s further development, evaluating a number of acquisition opportunities.

Bill was previously an Army Officer in the Royal Engineers, after which he was Operations Director of a UK quoted manufacturing company and Managing Director of a UK private retail company. He is an engineering graduate of King’s College Cambridge, holds an MBA from Henley Management College and is a qualified ICAEW Corporate Finance Advisor. He is also a master yachtsman and enjoys orienteering.
