William E. Fantegrossi, Ph.D. is a behavioral pharmacologist in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the College of Medicine at UAMS. Research conducted in his lab focuses on the in vivo pharmacology of "emerging" street drugs, including synthetic cannabinoids, 'bath salts' cathinone, fentanyl analogs, and other novel opioids, and designer hallucinogens. In addition to determinations of preclinical abuse liability, he is also interested in receptor mechanisms of tolerance, dependence, and withdrawal, and the behavioral and pharmacological consequences thereof.
