William Chapman, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a Professor of Surgery, the Chief of Abdominal Organ Transplant and the Eugene M. Bricker Chair of Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, as well as the Chief of the Division of General Surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He has been an active member in many surgical societies, including President of the AHPBA for the 2013-2014 year and, most recently, was elected as President of the Western Surgery Association for the 2015-2016 year.
He is currently a director of the American Board of Surgery and is on the editorial board of four surgical journals, including the Journal for Surgical Research, Transplantation, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, and Annals of Surgery. His clinical interests are adult and pediatric liver transplantation, adult kidney transplantation, and HPB surgery for both benign and malignant diseases.
