Wilbur Tom Workman MS, CASP, CHT

Dr. Tom is Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS). He started his career in hyperbaric medicine in 1972. He is a retired Colonel from the United States Air Force. He is Past-President of the UHMS Gulf Coast Chapter. He serves on the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Committee on Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy.
He served as Chair of the UHMS Hyperbaric Oxygen Safety Committee. He served as Chair of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committee on Hypobaric and Hyperbaric Facilities. He is the editor of UHMS Guidelines for Hyperbaric Facility Operations; and is editor of the Hyperbaric Facility Safety textbook. He is the namesake of the Wilbur T. Workman Safety Award from the UHMS Gulf Coast Chapter.
