Prof. Dr. Z'Graggen is Senior Physician at the University Clinic for Neurology and at the University Clinic for Neurosurgery and, in this role, medical director of the neurological-neurosurgical monitoring station (Neuro-IMC) and the neurovegetative laboratory.
His main research areas are neurointensive medicine, nerve and muscle membrane changes in diseases of the peripheral nervous system and muscles as well as the vegetative nervous system. The research support includes several peer-reviewed projects, for example from the Swiss National Science Foundation. His scientific work includes more than 60 original papers and reviews in renowned international journals. His scientific work has been awarded several research prizes.
Prof. Z'Graggen is a member of 6 national and international specialist societies, a Swiss representative in the scientific advisory board for neurotraumatology of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), and from 2019 Vice-President of the Commission for the Recognition of Intermediate Care Units (KIMC). He works as a reviewer for several renowned international journals in the fields of neurology, neurophysiology, and neurointensive medicine.
