Dr. Wendy Anderson is a palliative care doctor, focused on maximizing the quality of life for patients who have serious illnesses. She helps patients and their families manage pain and other symptoms, as well as the psychological stresses associated with serious illness. She also works with patients, their families, and their other doctors to ensure patients receive the treatments that are right for them.

Anderson's research focuses on improving communication between doctors and patients with serious illnesses. She is a faculty member for VitalTalk, a nonprofit that teaches practicing physicians to discuss serious illness in a manner that fully supports patients and their families.

Anderson earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Duke University, followed by fellowships in palliative medicine at the Sydney Institute of Palliative Medicine and the University of Pittsburgh. She also earned a master's degree in clinical research at the University of Pittsburgh.
