Wayne Jay Franklin MD

Dr. Franklin founded the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program in 2004 and he remains an active clinician, with clinical interests in a wide spectrum of congenital heart disease, such as tetralogy of Fallot, aortic valve disorders, single ventricle physiology, Fontan operations, atrio-ventricular canal defects, transposition of the great arteries, and pulmonary hypertension. He is also an expert on cardiac disease in women.

He is also an academic scholar, a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright & Jaworski Faculty Excellence Award, and a member of the Academy of Distinguished Educators.

In addition, Dr. Franklin is a noted researcher in such topics as heart disease in pregnancy, tetralogy of Fallot, and heart failure in congenital heart disease. He has been awarded multiple research grants, including most recently from the National Institutes of Health. He is also a member of the international organization, the Alliance for Adult Research in Congenital Cardiology.
