Waqar Ayub MBBS, MRCP

Dr. Waqar Ayub is a Renal and General Medical Consultant at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW), where he completed his post-graduate training. He has 25 years of experience in Renal medicine and specializes in all aspects of renal disease management, with a special interest in Diabetic Nephropathy and Cardio-Renal Syndrome. He has extensive experience in managing hypertension especially resistant hypertension. He specializes in managing the metabolic syndrome chain of Diabetes, Cardiovascular, and renovascular disease. He was an Honorary Associate Clinical Professor at the Institute of Clinical Education, Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick (2006-2014), where he currently holds an Honorary Lecturer post.

Dr Ayub has been leading the research into the management of Adult Polycystic Kidney Disease (APKD) for the past 10 years. He has 25 years of experience in managing patients with kidney transplants and those on dialysis. Dr Ayub is the lead for research at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. He is currently involved in 8 research projects both nationally and internationally. He is also involved in a novel agent for the treatment of Nephrotic syndrome in adults.
