Walter Stummer MD, PhD

Univ.-Prof. Prof. h.c. Dr. med. Walter Stummer Director of the Department of Neurosurgery of the University Hospital Münster, Prof. Dr. med. med. Walter Stummer, is the new president of the German Society for Neurosurgery (DGNC) with around 1,600 members. Summer worked at the University Hospital Düsseldorf until 2009. His special interests lie in the treatment of brain tumors and vascular neurosurgery. He took over the clinic at the University Hospital Münster at the beginning of October 2009. He was inter alia spokesman for the Neuro-oncology Section of the DGNC, a member of program committees of various professional societies, Deputy Chairman of the Neuro-oncological Working Group of the German Cancer Society, and Vice-President of the DGNC.
