Walter G. Renne DMD

Dr. Renne is a Full Professor and Assistant Dean of Innovation and Digital Dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina. At the university, he is the course director for the pre-clinical CAD/CAM course and director of the Digital Dentistry Residency. He has won several national and regional teaching awards for his efforts both pre-clinically and clinically. He is proficient clinically with the Planmeca Emerald S, CEREC Primescan, 3Shape Trios, CS 3600, iTero element, and Medit.

Dr. Renne is active in dental research and has published more than 30 studies, many of which focus on intraoral scanners and milling accuracy using various systems. He currently has several patents including a patent for a platform of long-term antimicrobial dental materials that have revolutionary bond durability components by inhibiting enzyme degradation of the hybrid layer while simultaneously preventing bacterial proliferation.
