Walter Ferlin obtained a PhD in Immunology from the University of California Davis and the DNAX Research Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology in Palo Alto, California, working on the use of anti-CD40 antibodies as vaccine adjuvants. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) Institute, University of Nice in Valbonne, France, his work focused on further elucidating tolerance mechanisms in the Non Obese Diabetic (NOD) mouse model of human diabetes. Walter joined Novimmune in 2003 as a Project Manager for several therapeutic antibody programs including the anti-IFNγ mAb, NI-0501. He now heads the Exploratory Science and Translational Medicine Department supervising the preclinical development of Novimmune's therapeutic antibody pipeline.
