Wafaa Kaf MD, MSc, PhD, CCC-A

Dr. Wafaa Kaf, MD, MSc, PhD, is a Professor of Audiology at the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at Missouri State University. Dr. Kaf’s primary teaching and research interests are in the areas of early auditory evoked potentials to estimate hearing thresholds in children (using auditory steady-state response and auditory brainstem response [ABR]), to investigate the auditory efferent system function (using electrocochleography [ECochG] and Cochlear Microphonics) and to study Ménière’s disease using ECochG and ABR with CLAD technique. Dr. Kaf also has a research interest in evaluating middle ear function using wideband tympanometry. She teaches graduate audiology classes and mentors doctoral theses in her research areas. In addition, Dr. Kaf gives presentations at national and international conferences and serves at national and international professional committees and is the president-elect of the Missouri Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Kaf earned her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University, Assiut, Egypt, completed her master degree in Audiology during her residency in the ENT Department at Assiut University Hospitals, and earned her PhD degree in Audiology from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, U.S.A.
