Wael Al Zoughbi MD, PhD

Wael Al-Zoughbi is a physician-scientist. He received his M.D. in 2002, and trained in Anatomic Pathology, from 2002 to 2007 at Damascus University. In 2016, he completed his Ph.D. study at Medical University of Graz under the supervision of Prof. Gerald Hoefler. Wael’s doctoral thesis is the first to establish a role for ATGL in cancer. Currently, he is funded by the Center for Biomarker Research in Medicine, CBmed GmbH. He applies his expertise in translational pathology to advise several Oncopathology projects.
