Vusumuzi Ngonidzashe Hove is a medicinal chemistry researcher and pharmaceutical scientist with a focus on clinical oncology. His research centers on evaluating the therapeutic efficacy, ADME properties, and toxicity of pharmacologic agents using in vitro and in vivo approaches integrated with pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling. Another dimension of his work involves identifying clinically relevant drug–drug interactions (DDIs) to inform future regulatory studies on drug disposition. Additionally, Hove has explored the development of oxime ligands for use as Fe(III) MRI contrast agents and for the sensing of Fe(III) and Fe(II).

Hove completed his secondary education at St. George’s College High School in Harare, Zimbabwe, where he sat for the University of Cambridge International O-Level, AS-Level, and A-Level examinations. He subsequently pursued his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University at Buffalo, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and two Master of Science degrees in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He was awarded the Professor Emeritus Dr. Thomas J. Bardos Scholarship by the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
