Volker Kinast PhD

Volker Kinast from the Department of Molecular & Medical Virology of the Medical Faculty received a so-called networking grant from the German Liver Foundation. Kinast has already used the forthcoming funding for a two-month research stay at the Laboratory of Virology and Infectious Disease at New York's Rockefeller University. In July and August 2021 he conducted research there on his work to identify entry mechanisms of the hepatitis E virus With the help of the grant, the researcher spent two months at Rockefeller University in New York.
